Canonical has joined with Meizu as for partnership to introduce meizu PRO 5 Ubuntu Edition. Canonical said, “This is the fifth Ubuntu device launched by Canonical and its partners in the last twelve months and the most sophisticated and feature-rich Ubuntu phone in the market”. The specifications of the device are a bit similar to the Meizu PRO 5 launched in the last year, but the only variation is with its OS to be Ubuntu.
Detailed features of Meizu PRO Ubuntu Edition
The phone comes with 5.7 inch super AMOLED display with 2.5D glass and 1920 X 1080 pixels resolution. The screen with 88 degree viewing angle, 10000:1 contrast ratio is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection.
Processor and OS
Octa-core (Quad-core 2.1 GHz + Quad-core 1.5 GHz) Samsung Exynos 7420 processor with Mali T760 GPU is equipped.
Ubuntu is the Operating System used.
RAM and Memory
Meizu PRO 5 Ubuntu Edition has 3 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 32 GB internal storage with expandable memory via microSD card. These are different from the RAM and memory of Meizu PRO 5 launched last year.
21.6 MP primary camera is with dual-LED flash, Laser Auto focus, PDAF, sony IMX230 exmor RS BSI sensor, 6P lens and f/2.2 aperture.
The camera provides 4K video recording.
Coming to the secondary camera, the phone has 5 MP front facing camera with OV5670 sensor, f/2.0 aperture.
